Kathleen Sherman Memorial Award - Call for Nominations
The Kathleen Sherman Memorial Award commemorates the life of Kathleen Sherman, a remarkable woman known for her caring nature, dedication as a nurse and Navy Veteran, and active involvement as a volunteer. This prestigious award is presented annually at the NH Suicide Prevention Conference and is open for nominations.
The award seeks to recognize either a Survivor of Suicide Loss Speaker or a Suicide Prevention Champion who has demonstrated exceptional qualities since the last conference held in 2022. Kathleen's daughter, Erica, was the inaugural recipient of this award, not only in honor of her mother but also for her relentless commitment to suicide prevention work after losing her father to suicide. Erica's compassionate leadership mirrors that of her mother's, making her a deserving awardee.
Take a moment to nominate individuals whom you believe exemplify great compassion, leadership, and advocacy for suicide awareness. Please consider their history of contributions to suicide prevention, including involvement in fundraising events like walks, rides, Survivor Day, or other initiatives related to suicide prevention or supporting those who have lost loved ones. Additionally, take into account whether the nominees have courageously shared their personal stories and have participated in suicide prevention or SurvivorVoices speaker trainings.
The winner of the Kathleen Sherman Memorial Award will be officially recognized at the upcoming NH Suicide Prevention Conference on November 2, 2023.
