New Hampshire Death With Dignity Act (HB1659)
In the 2020 legislative session, lawmakers considered a bill called the New Hampshire Death With Dignity Act (HB1659) that would have allowed terminally-ill patients who meet certain requirements to request life-ending medication. The bill died when the legislative session ended. The Brain Injury Association of NH, along with many other organizations who protect the rights of those individuals who are vulnerable and pre-disposed to suicide, opposed this bill which would have legalized physician-assisted suicide and set a very dangerous precedent.
