No Cost LivingWorks Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training
Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is being offered at no cost to participants, via the scholarship application.
ASIST is a 2-day training program that teaches participants how to assist those at risk for suicide. Although many clinicians use ASIST, anyone can use the approach, regardless of professional background.
During the training, you’ll learn how to recognize when someone may be thinking about suicide, and how to provide a skilled intervention and develop a safety plan with the person to connect them to further support. You will also consider how personal and community attitudes about suicide affect someone’s openness to seek help and your ability to provide it. Two knowledgeable, supportive trainers will guide you through the course, ensuring a comfortable and safe learning environment.
