Loving Someone with a Mental Illness - Caregiving and its Impact on Family

  • This is An Online Event (map)

Two authors, mental health advocates and regular family members join us for a moving discussion about their own family’s experience with mental illness and recovery - from the perspective of spouse, daughter and caregiver.

Mitch Wasden has spent over 30 years loving, living with and caring at times for his wife Sonja who has lived with bipolar, anxiety and OCD disorders throughout. We talked openly with Sonja last Fall about her struggles with mental illness, her family’s history with suicide and mental health crises, her work to shatter stigma, and how she created a life worth living. Now hear that story from the eyes of Mitch, as well as his daughter Rachel Siddoway, as they share how mental illness affects the entire family and their experience living amongst it.

Mitch and Rachel just finished traveling to all 50 states to share their message of resilience, love, caregiving and hope. The family has been interviewed over 50 times on news stations across the country including ABC, NBC, CBS, and Fox.

If you or someone you love is struggling with a mental illness, suicide is not the answer.  Know that you are not alone and there are many resources out there for you.

Join us on October 12th at 5pm to have an honest and open conversation and ask questions!
