Honor, Serve, Empower: NH Veteran Stand Down 2025
On Friday, September 19, 2025, Harbor Care will host the New Hampshire Veteran Stand Down—a powerful one-day event dedicated to honoring and supporting veterans who have served our nation. Held at Eversource Energy Park in Manchester from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, the Stand Down offers a range of free services designed to meet veterans where they are—whether facing homelessness, housing instability, financial stress, or simply in need of support.
This year’s event, organized in collaboration with Eversource, the U.S. Department of Labor, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and local community partners, breaks down barriers to care by offering employment assistance, medical check-ups, clothing, food, legal and pension counseling, housing support, mental health services, substance use resources, and more—all in one place and at no cost to attendees. Veterans don’t need to prove their service status to access help, though documents like DD-214 records or VA IDs can assist Harbor Care in connecting them with the right support.
The Stand Down brings together dedicated individuals and organizations committed to lifting veterans up. Community members can contribute in vital ways—volunteering at the event, sponsoring through varied levels of support, or donating needed items via Harbor Care’s Amazon wish list. Last year, the event featured more than 40 partnering agencies, creating a true “one-stop shop” of compassion and resources for veterans. In 2024, Eversource pledged $10,000 toward Welcome Kits containing essential items for veterans transitioning from street life—showing how volunteers and partners can make an impact immediately.
Inspired by its military origins, the Stand Down is rooted in the concept of granting veterans a break from the fight—an opportunity to rest, regain strength, and access critical care all in the same space. Emerging from the original model created in 1988, Stand Downs have become a hallmark of veteran outreach nationwide, empowering attendees with dignity, access, and connection.
